Hidden Gem. My dad and I ate at the restaurant this evening. Instead of planning for dinner, we just wandered around downtown and stumbled into Locanda Cervino. I'm glad we did. We did not have a reservation (this is recommended) but they graciously sat us anyway. Some people have complained on Google Review that they were given a hard time coming in without a reservation and noticed that there was no one in the room when they sat down. This is not unusual in Italy. Reservations are usually recommended because many people will go out to eat 8pm or later. We were there at 7:45pm without a reservation and when we sat, the place was almost empty. However, by the time 8:05pm rolled around, every table in the back was filled. Just to keep people aware. My dad ordered the Fungi Risotto. He is ITALIAN (like, authentic came over to the US in his 20s, so he appreciates good Italian cooking). He said his risotto was one of the best he tasted! I had the margarita pizza (I know...I'm the barbaric American ordering Pizza, but I wasn't in the mood for something heavier). The pizza was great. Definitely enough for one and maybe 2 people. The crust was light and the pizza delicious! I also had dessert - Tiramisu (a go-to favorite). It was homemade and delicious! I topped it off with Caffe Macchiato (trying to go the italian way of drinking coffee). That was well done and delicious as well. The atmosphere of the place was great. It was clear that both locals and tourists eat here. When ducking into the restaurant, the quick take is to think there are just a few tables up front - but the rest of the restaurant is in the back. It looks like you're in a wine cellar and it nicely decorated. Prices were good as well. If I ever find myself back in Chatillon, I will definitely go back! Service: 5
