We visited Les Grands Buffets in Étoy and left rather disappointed. The restaurant is very large and clean, with multiple dining areas designed to accommodate a high number of guests. There are at least seven different buffets offering a vast assortment of food: sushi, teppanyaki, woks to compose, already prepared dishes, as well as an extensive dessert area with several ice cream options, four varieties of fresh fruit (the rest canned), and even candy dispensers. There are also French fries and burgers, which seem intended to please younger visitors, though they feel somewhat out of place in a restaurant that presents itself as an Asian buffet. The quantity and diversity of food are impressive at first glance. There is plenty of meat, fish, and seafood (crab, lobster, prawns, scallops, etc.), which looks quite appealing when displayed. Unfortunately, once cooked, most dishes turned out bland, under-seasoned, and lacking genuine flavor. Industrial sauces are used extensively, often masking rather than enhancing the ingredients. The plates are small and made of plastic, and felt moree suited for kids. Communication was difficult, as most staff members did not speak French or English. Overall, this is a place that prioritizes quantity and variety over quality and taste. At 48.50 CHF per adult, it is not worth the price — not for me or anyone who values quality and prefers fewer choices but better-sourced products. As a buffet restaurant focused on offering good value for money, our aim is to provide a wide and enjoyable variety for all tastes.
