Today, I visited a restaurant affiliated with a luxury hotel in Montreux, based on its high ratings. As someone who pays great attention to detail, especially when it comes to cleanliness, I was eager to experience the level of service and quality it promised. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, who was very kind and directed me to the restaurant. However, to my surprise, the place was completely empty. The person in charge selected a table for me, but I immediately noticed that it was not properly cleaned, there were visible traces of salt and pepper left from a previous meal. I politely asked to change my table, explaining that I preferred not to sit in direct sunlight. Before even knowing the reason for my request, he seemed irritated. When I moved to the second table and pulled out the chair, I was appalled to find the seat covered in food residues, something completely unacceptable in a supposedly high-end restaurant. I pointed it out to him, expecting a professional response, but instead, he suddenly became aggressive and snapped at me, saying, “Did you come here to eat or to criticize the place?” Throughout my life, I have encountered very few rude individuals, but this person was by far the most ill-mannered and unprofessional I had ever met. I responded by saying that when a customer dines at an upscale restaurant and pays a high price, they expect a certain level of service and cleanliness. If the dining area is in such a poor state, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. I later shared my complaint with the receptionist, who assured me that she would report it to the management. She also mentioned that this was not the first time they had received complaints about him. This might be the first review I ever write, but the experience was extremely frustrating and worth mentioning.
