I left Le Tonnelier this evening, with my Husband, with the worst feeling I have ever had in my entire life (following a meal at a restaurant). I ordered a fish main course, two filets of Cod with a sauce, and it was OK until I saw something moving within the flakes. It was a curled, but long brown worm, approximately 3-4cm in length. The waiter took the dish to the kitchen, to show it to the chef. The waiter returned to our table, apologizing with sincerity, but at the end of his apology, he said, “It’s normal.” I suspect he meant something different, but given that he was likely nervous, he bumbled out an unacceptable response. They took the fish course off the bill, and didn’t charge us for our two glasses of wine, but they did charge my Husband for his meal, even though it was effectively also ruined, albeit not to same level. I hope I can forget about this repugnant experience someday. I definitely do not trust the quality standards of this kitchen, nor any dish they might serve.

Cod was one of them, this is delivered to us daily and was not frozen. Serving fresh fish can unfortunately cause the inconvenience you experienced. It's about nature. Mainly cod and monkfish are fish likely to contain worms. This happens more often when the waters are warm but can also occur in colder weather. We can assure you that our professional cooks make every effort to reduce the risks and work meticulously. Our quality standards are very strict and can assure you of impeccable traceability and hygiene in our kitchen. Have you ever found a slug in your salad? it is the same in this case.
