We called yesterday to book a table on the terrace for 1.30pm today, on the phone the lady told us she would call us back to give us a reply, 15 minutes later we were contacted again and the lady confirmed the table. Today, at 1.10pm we arrived at the restaurant and the lady in an unwelcoming tone informed us that there is no place on the terrace and above all that it was impossible to have given us this availability over the telephone. We reiterate that the lady is wrong and reluctantly settle for the table inside, when they exclaim "you are also late", it was 1.10pm, we were early. A waiter attacks us in a threatening tone. According to him, the justification for this behavior is the family bond with the lady. He also addresses us as if we were relatives. Customer welcome is fundamental as is effective communication, but apparently we have received poor service, rudeness and a lot of ignorance from those who improvise as restaurateurs with little professionalism.

It didn't happen like this, let me explain better: Anguillara Sabazia, lake view restaurant, Sunday lunch, hot sun and crowded village. These key words describe, in part, a spring Sunday lunch. She called the night before for a table, and the lady kindly offered her the only available table in the restaurant. You showed up early, but the table was obviously already available as it had been booked in advance for you. Not being to his liking, despite the lady's clarity regarding the booked table, he addressed her (I specify that the lady is older than her) saying "I'm rin***** or maybe it's you who doesn't understand Italian". There was no response from the lady, who, feeling sorry, lowered her head and went back to working in the kitchen. She certainly doesn't care, but restaurant work is harder than she thinks: it's not just based on cooking a dish in ten minutes, serving tables or clearing the table and setting the table. The lady's hands were at work that same Sunday morning to be able to serve her a plate of ravioli made by her, which she arrogantly called ignorant. We are in 2024, friendliness, kindness, respect for work and for people as human beings is IMPORTANT! The boy, the owner's son, as a human and empathetic person, took the liberty of protecting her from what would certainly have prevented her from being able to continue her work: non-respect. We agree that you expect a lot from the service, love and professionalism are key words in our restaurant, but respect comes before anything else. In front of her she had a person ready to give her all the attention, kindness and friendliness that a customer needs, but the words, the noise and the way in which she presented herself in our restaurant did not allow us to be able to give them to her. . We are really sorry, but we don't need this, we need those who, on a Sunday lunch, can enjoy the day calmly and carefree in our restaurant, with respect and love for what we do for you. The good words and smiles of customers, every day, still encourage us to be able to give our best, and day after day, we will improve more and more.
