I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant La Paire in Eaux-Vives neighborhood in Geneva, Switzerland. This brunch place has some interesting options, though the execution was mixed. We tried the tortillas with egg and salsa verde — the egg was a bit overcooked and the tortilla rather dry, but the salsa verde had a nice, distinctive flavor. The tartine with mozzarella bites and tomatoes was fine, though nothing special. The highlight was definitely the peach dessert with mascarpone cream, which was truly delicious, smooth, and memorable. Coffee was well made — the cappuccino was spot on — and the matcha was also very creamy and enjoyable. Service was friendly, though a bit on the slow side. The terrace is quite narrow, with tables pushed against the wall and chairs that can block the walkway, so it’s not the most comfortable setting. Still, it’s a pretty little alley with very little car traffic, which makes it charming in its own way. Price per person: CHF 20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
