L'Orchidee is in the three best Thai restaurants in Switzerland. I don't like making rankings, is "Thai thing" really 2% better than "Thai thing". But, honestly... after having visited a significant number of Thai restaurants in Switzerland. This one is clearly above the rest. Lots of creativity, dishes that are anything but "thrown in hastily" with a great effort to vary the tastes and balance them. Great presentation effort with use of grated flowers to add color. Decorating dishes requiring time and effort. Only the place is common, we are not in the tourist trap with a decoration that knocks you out. It's a small business, with some spartan decorations. The location is also pretty insignificant. A very busy street, and a blind drawn low, to protect customers from the heat. You can pass by without seeing it. The location will not suit uptight people who want to appear, we are down to earth. You have children going out and coming home with friends and family. It’s a place to live. Small bonus point for the toilets. Well kept, clean. This is something I always look at when I go to an establishment. Be careful, there is not much space, capacity of 14-16 people at the maximum, and, therefore, crowded when we approach the weekends. Take the time to wait. This is a very good place for very special occasions. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
