La Marina in Sardinia offers a dining experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. If you're fond of overcooked, minuscule portions, this might just be your paradise. However, for anyone else, the lack of basic dining necessities such as cutlery and napkins should be expected (expect it after you’ve finished your second, you will have to make do with a fork until dessert). Waiting over 30 minutes for each course while constantly reminding the staff about forgotten items like pepper and cutlery isn't exactly my idea of a relaxing meal. The "mixed grill" was particularly laughable—consisting of one prawn, a tiny fish fillet and a single squid ring. La Marina's culinary offerings are an insult to Sardinia's rich food heritage. Our recent visit to this restaurant was an unfortunate lesson in how a picturesque location can be the sole redeeming feature of an otherwise disastrous dining experience. Nestled by the seashore, the views are indeed captivating; however, this is where the commendations end. The culinary journey was marred by a series of blunders that would be comical if not for their sheer frequency. Out of seven courses, three were incorrectly served, a remarkable feat of inattention. The situation was exacerbated by the inexplicable absence of essential dining implements—two members of our party were left to fumble through their meals without knives, despite our persistent appeals for cutlery and napkins. The wine selection, while of good quality, was subjected to an array of mishandlings. Not only was it served at an inappropriate temperature, but the waitstaff also exhibited a curious disregard for our specific orders, indiscriminately doling out white wine to all, irrespective of the deliberate pairing of red and white wines with our fish and meat courses. While the waitstaff maintained a veneer of politeness, their demeanor was tinged with a disquieting blend of condescension and mockery, as if subtly acknowledging the farce we were subjected to. Our attempt to leave an honest review on Google was met with an enigmatic and dubious response from the establishment: "come back you forgot some money." This is particularly perplexing given that our payment was made by card, suggesting a level of duplicity that is as troubling as it is unprofessional. In summary, if one is seeking to enjoy the view, this location is ideal. For those in search of a competent and respectful dining experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Idyllic location, average food, horrible service. The dinner took 3 hours. The brought the same dish twice, out of sequence, and one paste dish had cheese and the other didnt. The grilled flish was 2 shrimps and a piece of farmed sea bass. The waiters were trying to help and the manager was quite rude.
