A Hidden Gem in Zweisimmen – A Must-Visit! If you are traveling through the Bernese Oberland and craving authentic flavors, look no further than Koriander in Zweisimmen. Run by two incredibly hardworking individuals, this place offers a truly personal touch that you simply don’t get at larger chain restaurants. The menu is a fantastic fusion of Asian cuisines—it was the perfect remedy for our cravings for Indian and Asian food while on the road. Whether you’re looking for a full meal, a quick coffee and bakery item, or a relaxing drink at the bar, they have it all covered. The quality is consistent, and the flavors are spot-on. It’s perfectly located and easy to reach if you are coming from Gstaad, Interlaken, or Thun. I highly recommend Koriander to everyone: locals and Europeans looking to try genuine Indo-Asian cuisine, and fellow travelers who are missing the taste of home. A wonderful spot! We recently visited Koriander Restaurant and Bar in Simmengasse 3, and it was such a pleasant surprise. The place blends a cozy Swiss charm with authentic Indian and Asian flavors. Something you don’t easily find in this region. We tried a few dishes from their menu, and every plate had that perfect balance of spice and aroma. The Poulet Butter Masala was silky, rich, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best we’ve had outside India. The Tikka Masala had a lovely smoky note, and if you like something lighter and creamy, the Korma is an absolute must. From the Thai side, the Rotes Thai Curry with chicken had a fragrant coconut sauce that was both warming and perfectly spiced, great comfort food after a day outdoors. We also sampled the Fisch Thai Grünes Curry, and it was spot-on. Fresh, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the presentation was elegant without feeling overdone. Prices are fair for the quality, and the menu has a great mix of Indian, Thai, and Chinese-inspired dishes. If you visit Zweisimmen, make sure to stop by Koriander, whether you’re craving authentic curries, a good glass of wine, or just a warm and relaxing evening, this place won’t disappoint.
