A family-owned Croatian traditional konoba on the beautiful island of Žut. Konoba Bain offers locally caught fish. The restaurant is placed in a cozy bay Strunac surrounded by olive yards. It also offers accommodation in the beach houses near the sea.

Foreword: I hope the recession is helpful and that many people avoid visiting to make it clear to the operators that they are a service company. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food and atmosphere as we didn't get that far. I always try to prepare my countless trips in Croatia very well in order to always offer my fellow travelers a special experience. When I'm traveling with children like in the past few weeks, planning is even more important because the expectations and demands are different than with adults. The last time I visited Konoba Bain was several years ago, when it was still far from what it seems to be today. Nevertheless, I wanted to pay her a visit again because of the numerous good reviews. In addition, the beach, pool and water playground are certainly a great experience for the children on board. No sooner said than done: I reserved a berth on the jetty 3 weeks (!!!) before our arrival. The berth on the jetty was important to us as it meant the children could walk up and down and enjoy and discover the place they were visiting. The request was quickly confirmed to me by the Konoba. During the actual trip, our boat had a problem with the cooling and the supply battery, which meant we had to rely heavily on external power supplies. When temperatures exceed 35 degrees and there are children on board, at least a few chilled drinks and snacks are necessary. Knowing that there is no electricity at Bain, I asked a few days before our arrival if we could power our cooler. That was also quickly answered with ĀĀyesĀĀ and we were able to go ahead with our planned visit. About 20 minutes before arrival (already at 11:00 in the morning) I called Bain to announce our arrival and asked if I could go straight to the reserved berth on the jetty. Again my request was answered with ĀĀyesĀĀ. In the meantime, unfortunately, a child on board (8 years old) became sick and had a fever. We couldn't pinpoint the exact cause, but we suspected it was sunstroke. However, with the prospect of a shady spot under trees and cool drinks, there was no cause for alarm. Shortly before docking - we were already reversing about 20 meters from the jetty - an employee of the Konoba jumped into his boat and drove to us. He informed us - "No berth at the jetty because he got a reservation for 10 motorboats". We should go to the buoy. I told him that I had already made a reservation 3 weeks ago and didn't understand why 10 boats were suddenly coming - when I asked again 20 minutes ago. He just said that's the way it is and he's welcome to pick us up from the buoy. All of this would be annoying because of the ignored reservation, but it would still be okay. However, we had the situation with a child who needed shade and cooling and no cool drinks on board, which I explained to the employee again. Carrying a child with sunstroke back and forth in the dinghy at over 35 degrees was not a solution for us, especially since we couldn't supply our cool box with electricity. The offer to take the cool box on land was meant nicely, but it's no use if we're not on land. I couldn't find an answer as to why one of the "new" boats couldn't get to the buoy and we could get our berth. In summary: Our reservation and numerous inquiries were ultimately ignored. Even in an unpleasant situation with a "sick" child on board, we were not helped. The 10 registered boats were more important to the owner. Why is this so? I leave this assumption to each reader in order to remain factual in my review. We went to Festa! Perfect service and friendly service! Service: 1
