If we could we would have given more stars than five. Our server was Sandeep, who was friendly, and recommended us about our food order. The food prepared by Chef Rahman was outstanding and authentic taste. We loved the experience and would definitely visit again when in town. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We visited Kanchi Indian Restaurant in Lucerne’s Old Town and were left quite disappointed. While the location is nice, the service felt very partial. For example, complimentary papad was served to other tables around us, but not to ours, which felt unfair. We also requested a simple aalo paratha for our 3-year-old child, something very basic in Indian cuisine, but the staff refused. As parents, we found this especially inconvenient since flexibility with children’s food is generally expected at good Indian restaurants. On top of that, the prices are quite steep compared to both the food quality and the service received. The dishes were average at best, and the overall experience did not justify the cost. Lucerne has many excellent dining options, but unfortunately, Kanchi did not live up to expectations in terms of hospitality, quality, or value for money. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 60–70
