Very elegant setting, typical upscale Swiss mountain style. Food is of very quality and portions very large. Kids menu available. Wine list is great and correctly priced, it proposes many origins, and for all budgets (including very expensive). Service was very good as can be expected. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A special occasion and special friend. A rare meal at the majestic Vereina. Formal, alpine Tradition - wood panelled pine purity for a high end meal. Traditional menu of all the typical Swiss-german regional standards, as one would expect, plus some opulent and luscious additions such as fois gras and magret de canard. Coming in from the cold, we appreciates the warm welcoming 'amuse bouche' soup was a spicy tomato to get the palate and gustatory system into gear. The Bodum style double chambered glass bowl kept it hot over our extended conversation. Suitably launched, we ordered the wine and Swiss favourites, the Nüsslisalat as entree (Lambs Lettuce / Feldsalat/ Mâche) which is an solid favourite in any Swiss restaurant. Impressed that I could even be impressed by this one. A perfectly fried cheese croquette the signature addition for a crouton variation. Kalbfleisch Zürcher Art - again absolut stock standard and favourite for Deutsche Schweize - was also on offer, here it's called Kalbs *Fillet* Geschnetzeltes, (nor ally its simply: 'Zürcher Kalbsgeschnetzeltes' and typically uses the rump or flank/round steak). Have no fear, a prime cut here, 'sans grisonnant'. The portion is generous without being excessive. It's a signature fine porcelain plate of meat and mushroom in a very special cream sauce. The fine rösti was buttery and perfectly done. To other details then. Service was international standard, and young poised and welcoming polyglot gentleman, being pre season opening, he served at maître D'hôtel, sommelier and garçon to a dining room of just a few perfectly attired patrons resplendent with fashionable accoutrements befitting the select few who cross the road from the sturdy local restaurant. A place to see and be seen. There was a aire of the reviewer in the room, as a blazered Madame who shops in the Marais straightened the pile of menus as she passed, a sure sign of having assigned herself inspector duties for a chain of small hotels of the world in her tour du monde ... satisfied shasade and ' exuent ' stage left. The German menu was fine- the English was befuddling. As if their first, it listed the elements of the dish, but any sense to it was missing. No 'Veal Zurich style' as title. Just an ingredient list like: veal mushrooms cream sauce pan fried potato were listed and so forth for the whole menu. Vraiment! These dishes have names. Don't lose and bemuse the English speakers. I'd happily translate. The wine list wide ranging but surprisingly young wines without any depth of vintages, and the St Julien's had Ch G. at the same price as neighbouring vineyards rivals we know are double the price. The Pape Clément 2020 apired well, and wile approachable, the unusually earth vintage (leather and mushroom nose up front ) made it hard to distinguish if there is cork taint. The 2nd bottle was more subtle than the 1st, which was - after hesitation was verified by the man of all moments / waiter - I sent back based on the nose alone, without testing, as it seemed corked. Formal, fine 5 star standard. Thank you the waiter for doing all jobs, while scrutinized from all directions. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Call for Respect and Inclusion at Vereina Stübli! During our family’s visit to Vereina Stübli restaurant in beautiful Klosters, encouraged by a wonderful experience at RICE Asian restaurant and a warm recommendation from Mr. Müller, we looked forward to a similar welcoming atmosphere. However, the evening took an unexpected turn leaving us reflecting on the importance of empathy and understanding in hospitality. The restaurant offered an elegant setting, but the atmosphere somehow rigid. The pivotal moment came when our youngest child, as young children often do, experienced a meltdown (my husband took him outside straight away). Such incidents, while challenging, usually call for patience and understanding from adults around. Regretfully, this moment led to a surprising and distressing reaction from Mr. Stefan Götz, the owner, whose approach was disproportionate and discriminatory. This incident was further compounded when Mr. Götz insisted that our presence was disturbing to others, a claim starkly contradicted by the support we received from fellow guests. This gesture of empathy, expressing that our family’s situation was handled disrespectfully and that they would leave in support of us, was heartening. It underscored the disparity between the owner’s stance and the kindness typically associated with hospitality. We were touched by the staff’s kindness, which stood in stark contrast to the owner’s actions. This contrast left us reconsider our initial thought of staying at the Vereina Hotel for our next holiday, as we always search for an environment where understanding and inclusivity are at the forefront. I share our story with the hope for positive change. We encourage Vereina Stübli to embrace a spirit of inclusivity and respect, reflecting the true essence of hospitality. Our experience underscores the importance of creating a welcoming space for all guests, reinforcing that the core of hospitality lies in kindness and empathy. We are grateful for the support from the other guests and the staff’s professionalism, shining examples of the welcoming spirit we had hoped to find. We believe in the power of change and hope that our feedback contributes to a future where everyone can enjoy their visit to Vereina Stübli, supported by the warmth and hospitality Switzerland is known for.
