Most of the restaurants are closed at lunchtime at the beginning of April. We could find some open but they were quite expensive not to mention the coperto which was 2.5 euros per person in the one we wanted to eat some pizza. Originally we wanted to eat some pasta but for some reason most of the restaurants don't provide it. As it turned out the chosen restaurant had run out of pizzas. So we decided to eat somewhere else. We found this kabab bar where we could eat for reasonable price. In fact from the 5 Euro coperto we could get a kebab. The portions were big full of delicious content. The staff was kind and friendly. If you are hungry and love tasty dishes and don't mind eating something else than Italian go and visit. Last night, walking around Vieste, we noticed Istanbul kebab located right on the promenade in front of the lighthouse. Great location with 3 steps staircase in front of the entrance giving you that chance to sit and enjoy the kebab. Inside it has tables. It catapulted us straight into the past when we were engaged and with a few euros we could eat a sandwich on the street. Fantastic! In fact it is very popular with kids but my wife and I love kebabs and we enjoyed a full sandwich sitting on the stairs in spite of the more famous restaurants and fast-food outlets in the area. Gorgeous sandwiches, full to the max! Everything exquisite. The menu is excellent and includes a sandwich (or piadina, not pita), chips and a drink for €7. We had dinner in Vieste for practically less than €20 and for those like us who try to stay within our budget, it's excellent. Before the holiday is over, we will definitely be back.
