Io ho preso un discreto kebab vegano, caro in rapporto ai prezzi Italiani ma rapportato al costo della vita in Svizzera molto economico. L'ambiente invece non mi è piaciuto per niente. Troppo anonimo e senza stile, giusto un luogo dove avere una sedia e un tavolo per mangiare, niente di più. Il personale poco simpatico e a tratti sgarbato... About 6-7 years ago, I saved up my three scholarships and went to Lyon to volunteer on a farm for two weeks. On a freezing winter day, I took a day trip to Geneva, and that’s when I came across this place, like a miracle. Just as I was praying, “God, please help me,” I saw Istanbul Kebab. I was so overjoyed, it was almost overwhelming. Feeling a bit shy and hesitant, I asked the chef about the owner. I didn’t have much money on me, and my phone battery had suddenly dropped to 10% because of the cold. I had little chance of using my phone because I didn’t have a power bank, a charger, or the money to buy any of those things. I went inside hoping just to charge my phone for 20-25 minutes. Anyway, our kind, fatherly brother came over with a warm smile. I barely had to say a word, and he immediately understood my situation. We sat down together at a table, chatted, and out of nowhere, two plates of food appeared. We started eating, and then he brought baklava, followed by tea. What can I say? Thank goodness for good-hearted people like you. That day could’ve gone so badly—I might have even missed my bus. But luckily, a fellow Turk arrived just like an angel in time. I don’t remember his name—sorry about that—it’s been a long time, but he truly left a lasting impression. Thank you so much, brother. You’re a great guy. Also, I was so stressed that I almost forgot about CERN while in Geneva. Thankfully, this kind brother reminded me that there was such a place here, gave me directions, and then sent me on my way. So, all I’m saying is, the food was amazing, and I’m grateful for the hospitality, but even more so for the warmth and kindness.
