Prenotiamo per la pizza di sabato sera ti dicono si va bene poi arriviamo e ci dicono che la pizza oggi non la fanno! Incredibile!

In the last two summers, the "In Barca" restaurant had become one of my reference points for lunch. Its strong point? The simplicity of the place, the kind welcome and a mixed fried fish that is dry and crunchy, a rarity that is difficult to find. Every time I came here, I knew I could count on a pleasant experience, so much so that I recommended it to many friends and family. However, the last visit completely destroyed this perception, leaving me with a profound disappointment. We booked at the last moment for a Sunday lunch, aware of the risk, but on the phone we were guaranteed a table on the veranda. When we arrived at the restaurant, they instead informed us that the veranda was full and placed us in a narrow corner, under an inverter that emitted hot air. On a hot mid-November day with temperatures above 20 degrees this arrangement was very annoying. For a good 15 minutes no one bothered to come to our table. They didn't even bring us a glass of water or a piece of bread for the children who were hungry. At that point, I got up to ask for explanations and spoke to a young man at the counter who identified himself as the owner. His response was scandalous to say the least: he arrogantly told me that, having booked late, we had to accept the situation or leave. He even had the courage to deny the hot air problem, claiming that if we were sick it was our problem, not his. We left the room to get some air, but given the time and the hunger of the children, we returned with the intention of waiting. After another 10 minutes they finally turned off the inverter, but the service remained terrible. No one came over to take our order or bring us something to drink. We waited a total of 50 minutes without even being able to order, completely ignored by the staff. When we finally managed to stop the only waiter, we were told that because we had shown an intention to leave, we had lost priority over orders. Unacceptable behavior, arrogant and lacking any respect for the customer. At that point, we were forced to change restaurants. A family Sunday that was supposed to be enjoyable turned into an exasperating experience, leaving us with a sense of anger and humiliation. The thing that saddens me most is that until that day I had always praised this place, also thanks to the professionalism and kindness of a lady who always welcomed us warmly. Unfortunately, this time I found myself faced with a staff of young guys, including the alleged owner, totally incapable of managing the service with education and respect. An attitude that not only ruins the reputation of the place, but completely betrays the basic principles of hospitality. I sincerely hope that this review reaches the right people. Treating customers with such arrogance is shameful and unforgivable. If the kind lady I knew is still involved in the management, I hope she takes steps to restore the restaurant to the standards that made it so popular. Otherwise, not only will I never set foot in this place again, but I will make sure the people I recommended it to know how we were treated so that the staff is repaid with the same coin they treated us with. Being bold is not enough to be a winner! You also need heart, kindness, empathy and respect! You have a great restaurant, with great food!
