We are glad you wrote these few lines so we have the chance to explain to you once again. You booked a family room ( for 7 nights) more than 2 months ago and just like every hotel in the world we asked you for a deposit (less than the cost of 2 nights). The reason for the deposit is to guarantee our job because when we reserved you the room we said no to many other requests for the same room in the last months. Normally we let our customers cancel for free up to 30 or even 15 days before the arrival date in some cases. But you wanted to cancel a 7 nights reservation only 2 DAYS BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL, leaving us with an empty room for 7 nights that was in fact impossible to rent to other guests in just a couple of days. As a result of your cancellation, the room remaind empty almost every day and we lost an important revenue for our small family business. To be helpful ,we also offered you a significant discount for a future stay, but you disparaged the offer. It is important for you to understand that our job is to ensure that our guests have a great holiday and with only 16 rooms available, we need to plan bookings carefully. If all guests behaved like you, we could close the hotel tomorrow and let our employess at home.....but obviously we prefer to stay open and pay salaries at the end of the month. P.S. Luckily you booked directly with us with only a 20% deposit, because with any other ONLINE BOOKING SITES, you would have had a 50% or even 100% cancellation fee.
