Abbiamo trascorso qui 1 notte in autunno (Lucca Comics). Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 4
Hotel a gestione familiare, tenuto bene, pulito, con spazi curati dentro e fuori. Personale cortese. Walkability: Dieci forse quindici minuti dalle attività commerciali e di ristorazione Food and drinks: Sempre andato in inverno, ristorante chiuso ma colazione ok Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet, Child-friendly, Great value
I really didn’t wanna write this review but there’s been incredibly poor manner. I just hurt my eye on my second day here and had to go to the emergency room and had my eye all bandaged up, leaving me with half of my vision. I also vomited and caught a fever in the middle of the night right before I check out. As a young solo traveller who does not speak Italian, this has been bad enough. When I told them about it the next morning and asked to pay to stay for another day because I am too weak to move, they replied that there is no room left, despite the fact that I could still book a room on their online website. I suspected that they just did not want the trouble of having to deal with sick guests in their hostel. They also hastily commented that the check out time is 10:30am without offering me any help to find a replacement hotel or any kind of help. I was basically hurried to leave the accommodation. When I asked if they could bring breakfast up the room so that I don’t have to infect their guests at the dining room, they brought up tea only, i.e. liquid only and no actual food. That was not a huge problem so I proceeded to go down to get breakfast for myself in a mask. While I was picking up my breakfast, a woman who I suspect to be the female owner had the audacity to come up to me and tell me AGAIN that there is no room left and that I have to check out by 10:30am. She did not give any condolences for my eye which was visibly all bandaged up or for my vomiting or fever. She basically just wanted to see me leave the accommodation. She was quite plainly unkind. She seems to be the type of person who only cares about the running of her business, since my checking-out late would cause inconvenience to her cleaning staff. I see no hospitality from her. I can’t believe that she would hurry a temporarily half-blind and ill person to pack up and leave. It’s simply impossible with the temporary blindness and the illness but she did not seem to understand that. That said, the male owner was kind and his son has showed me incredible kindness. He drove me to the hospital after my eye injury and has assisted me in all ways possible including communicating with the medical staff on behalf of me who don’t speak Italian. I am very grateful to him but this could not be said to the other people in this establishment. I simply wish for more empathy and kindness in this region of the country which treats non-Italian speaking people differently. Service: 1
