We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Plaza Duće and would happily return. From the moment we arrived, the hotel made a great first impression with its modern entrance and welcoming atmosphere. Our room (903) was spacious, spotless and well equipped. We paid extra for a sea view, which was absolutely worth it, and the balcony was lovely. The room also had useful extras like an iron and ironing board, plus electric curtains, blackout blinds and good air conditioning. The only minor negatives were the lighting and the bed. The room lighting was quite soft, so a brighter light for getting ready would have helped. The bed was very firm and gave us a bit of backache, although we understand that firmer mattresses suit many guests and it didn’t spoil our holiday. Our room also required four lifts to reach, which took a little getting used to. The food was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast had a huge variety, and there really was something for everyone. We booked full board, but in hindsight half board would have suited us better, as lunch was a three-course à la carte meal every day and became a bit too much. The quality was very good, but we would have preferred more casual options. Evening meals were once again excellent, with plenty of choice. Drinks were reasonably priced too. The location is excellent. Although the hotel is beside a busy road, it’s easy to cross over and walk through the nearby campsite to reach a beautiful sandy beach. We actually preferred the beach because of the sea breeze. If you walk left along the beach, you’ll reach Omiš, which has lovely restaurants, bars, shops and boat trips. Local buses also run regularly. The outdoor pool area was clean and well maintained, though the pool itself is quite small. There were plenty of loungers, shaded seating areas and sea views, but the paving got very hot in the June sun, so we spent more time at the beach. The spa was also clean and pleasant, although the jacuzzi wasn’t working during our stay. The indoor pool was a nice alternative, and fresh beach towels were available daily, which was a great touch. One area that could be improved is the arrival experience. We were given a map and shown to our room, but not much else, so we had to work out some things for ourselves, such as where the beach and restaurants were and how drinks were charged. A bit more information at check-in would have been helpful. That said, the reception staff were always friendly and happy to help when asked. The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, and a special thank you to Mariana and Danijel for their excellent service. We loved sitting on the restaurant terrace in the evenings, enjoying dinner with a sea view. Although you can hear the nearby road, it didn’t spoil the experience. Overall, Hotel Plaza Duće exceeded our expectations. It’s clean, modern, relaxing and serves fantastic food, with wonderful staff. We would happily stay here again and would recommend it, especially for couples, adults and families with older children.
