My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Miramare in Cesenatico on the recommendation of a friend. A premise: my review (shared with my husband) will be a bit particular and not so short... Four-star hotel: this is the level indicated for the Miramare. I happened to read negative reviews, in which the astonishment that a four-star hotel could have features that downgraded it to three was dominant. Here, I think so: the name already evokes something distant in time. Perhaps it was one of the first hotels in Cesenatico. Let's imagine him as an old lady, with a myriad of fine lines around her eyes and lips, perhaps because she smiled a lot and saw so many things. The lady, despite her age, cares about her appearance. She doesn't dress like a little girl, but loves sober suits and doesn't give up on gloves and a hat with a veil. If something wears out because its clothes have known better times, it mends so well that everything seems almost new again, without losing the flavor of the past. He walks along the canal with dignity, dispenses smiles to the people, to the new buildings which, in his day, did not yet exist, observes the fishing boats: perhaps, many years ago, he was waiting for a young fisherman and walked away arm in arm with him, his eyes dreamy. Well, the Miramare is this delightful lady from the 1930s. My husband and I have seen the passage of time, largely hidden by modernities that at the time could not even be imagined: the lift, the television, the air conditioner... And if something was wrong, we always found an immediate response to solve a small problem. We were immediately greeted with a smile and exquisite courtesy. We always found everything clean and ate well: the courses were just the right amount, never skimpy or exaggerated. The maitre d' has always been very kind, as have the waitresses he managed. And now let's go back to Milan, with a kiss to the old lady. Next to her we breathe a slight hint of mothballs, but a more persistent scent of roses... Four roses, delicately placed, on a hat with a veil. 7 Rooms: Simple but with everything you need. Safety: The rooms are equipped with a safe. Food & drinks: Quite a varied choice and well presented. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value
