The Kind of Place I Want to Return To Bergalga Hotel and Restaurant is a wonderful reminder that real luxury has very little to do with opulence. It is found in comfort, exceptional food, thoughtful details, and people who genuinely care about their guests. The rooms are modest. Yet everything that truly matters is done exceptionally well: wonderfully comfortable beds with beautiful linens and down duvets, impeccable cleanliness, locally made soaps and lotions, and a peaceful atmosphere that lets the surrounding valley become the real centerpiece. The food deserves special praise. Every meal was exceptional, prepared with great care using outstanding local ingredients. What impressed me most, however, was the hospitality. During our first stay, the staff asked us which table we would like for dinner and reserved it for us for the rest of our visit. We also asked for coarse salt and a pepper mill instead of the standard table setting. When I returned just a week later, the very same table was waiting for me, with the coarse salt and pepper mill already there. I hadn’t mentioned either when making my reservation. It was such a sweet gesture that made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. The selfish part of me wants to keep Bergalga Hotel and Restaurant to myself. The grateful part knows that wonderful places like this deserve to be discovered and to thrive, because I hope it will always be there for me to return to. Service: 5
