Glattgrill the name says it all and entitles you to be part of the Glatt shopping center! I didn't discover the shop until late spring 2023 and have been there once a week at lunchtime ever since and look forward to this treat in the form of a pocket or flatbread. The shop itself is extremely large with a lovingly described window front regarding the origin of the burger/kebab etc. The restaurant itself is very clean and the counter with the ingredients invites you to eat with pleasure. The midday rush is sometimes extreme, so it is not recommended to show up here after 12:00 p.m., but rather from 12:30 p.m. when the first big wave has passed through, which is very noticeable, especially in summer. Inside the store there is also plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs, and in summer there is additional seating outside. I recommend a classic kebab with everything, the bread doesn't matter, you can basically leave out the sauce and if you have an intolerance, all the better. A kebab must be edible without sauce and yet so juicy that your mouth will water. For my part, I've been looking for this taste for a long time and Glattgrill is by far one of the best restaurants in all of Zurich. I once had a similar treat in a small kebab shop in the village of Siebnen in Kt. SZ, but after countless staff changes it was no longer the same. This comment is definitely not bought and is based on my personal experiences. As a meat connoisseur of Turkish origin, I am extremely critical in this regard when it comes to this magical dish, because there are also really bad kebab kebabs here in the country that are very poorly prepared and hardly taste good. I guarantee you that you will have a very good meal here and I hope you enjoy your meal! In my opinion, the previous recessions are incomprehensible, as the same staff is always on site and nothing changes in terms of preparation. Due to my request, some of the skewers were replaced to check whether the taste was just as good or even better. You can argue about the size/filling quantity, but I've never left this store hungry in the last few months and sometimes I still wanted a second round because it tasted so incredibly good, but not because I was still hungry! With a kebab it's not about the quantity or mass that is packed into it and the pocket bread / flatbread is bursting at the seams, there are plenty of other examples that live out this philosophy but they also have to get rid of the meat by the evening. Quality instead of quantity and here the quality is 100% right! I have one additional point to add: the topic of meat straight from the spit versus meat from these metal boxes. For many people, meat from these boxes is out of the question and that is completely understandable for me. Meat straight from the spit remains untouched in taste in every respect and is almost impossible to find in this form in Turkey / Germany. In the case of the Glatt Grill, however, in my opinion it has no influence at all and if you eat there for lunch/dinner anyway, you won't get anything from the skewer, but you will still get very freshly cut meat, you can just feel it. It would be interesting to visit during the course of an afternoon to test whether the quality decreases at "off-peak times" or whether you get what feels like the same thing at any time of the day.
