I just returned from 10 days in Italy and lunch at Le Logge was one of my very favorite meals the entire trip. I traveled with a group and we all thought the food was very good and reasonably priced but what made the establishment stand out was the outstanding, friendly service. We were greeted by what seemed to me to be the manager and he was very kind to make a place for us to sit inside to get out of the summer heat - he asked two other patrons to move so that the 4 of us in my party could sit together. Then, completely unprompted, he brought over small plates of each of their four daily "specials" that were on the white board behind the counter. We had a variety of pasta dishes, bruschetta and even melon with prosciutto and it was all delicious! I wanted to leave this review as a counterpoint to some others who complained that "they don't speak any English!" or "the cheeseburger was terrible". First off, the restaurant is in ITALY so ...not America. Second, what kind of dolt expects a cheeseburger to be good (or remotely like what you're used to back home) in ITALY?! Here's a tip that'll help anyone get better treatment in Italy: Learn a FEW simple Italian words. Words like "buongiorno!", "per favore", and "grazie". I have been to Italy many times and absolutely do not speak Italian but I've learned a few words and the Italians I have encountered really, really seem to appreciate it when you make even the tiniest bit of effort to speak to them - or at least greet them - in their native tongue. Anyway, Caffe Le Logge is a hidden gem in Firenze, in my opinion . The place was filled with Italians dining there so I think that probably tells you just about all you need to know about the quality of this charming little place.
