I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Gaya in Paquis neighborhood, Geneva, Switzerland. We visited this Korean restaurant about 30 minutes before the closing time listed on Google Maps. There were many tables available, so we sat down. We were hoping to try a Korean BBQ, but we were told it wasn’t possible — most likely because the staff didn’t want to start the grill that close to closing time. Understandable, but still a bit disappointing. I ordered the marinated beef, which unfortunately lacked freshness; the meat tasted a bit tired and the seasoning didn’t fully make up for it. We also tried a Korean vegetable pancake, which seemed like it might have been prepared several hours earlier. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the meal was acceptable but very average, and the prices felt a bit high for the quality. The dining area has plenty of tables, but they are quite close to each other, which makes the space feel slightly cramped. A restaurant where you can eat reasonably, but not the best representation of Korean cuisine. Price per person: CHF 40–50 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
