Throughout our entire trip in Italy - Gargiulo Bread and Wine was out favorite location. I cannot recommend this place enough. The hospitality from Salvatore and Rosanna is unparalleled and the food is the BEST! The layout of the shop is more like a deli with a large table in the middle of the store. There are wines on the shelves and in the coolers, as well as food available for takeout which they can prepare for you to eat there. We sat at the large table, initially starting with a plate of meats and cheeses and a bottle of wine. As people sat down, we would talk with them, and it became like a family dinner with people coming and going. Eventually we ordered more food, more wine, and it turned into the most delightful evening. Every single thing we ordered was spectacular - the highlights were the lasagna, the meatballs, and the tiramisu. Overall, Gargiulo Bread and Wine was such a special place, and I would give more than 5 stars if I could! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Hidden Gem in Positano After an uphill trek from the east side of Positano (roughly 350 steps—yes, we counted!), my wife and I arrived at Gargiulo Bread and Wine, and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the climb. The moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Mama, who gave the place such a homey, authentic vibe. Her son helped us pick the perfect bottle of wine to pair with our dinner. We split an order of lasagna, which they kindly heated up for us, and it was delicious—comfort food at its finest. For dessert, we couldn't resist sharing a giant tiramisu, and even though it was huge, we found ourselves savoring every last bite until the plate was clean. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, making us feel as though we’d been transported to a peaceful, hidden corner of Italy, far away from the tourist traps. It's the perfect spot for a romantic date night. If you’re in Positano and looking for a genuine, unpretentious dining experience, Gargiulo is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
