I tried this restaurant based on the excellent reviews posted here. While the food was good, I do not think it was excellent, as other reviews claim. It was a decent meal, but there are things that I would change or recommend. I did show during somewhat of an early dinner hour. the restaurant was empty, but it took some time to get attention from the staff. I didn't have a reservation so maybe they weren't expecting anyone. They served bread and olive oil, which was tasty, but they did not inform me that there was an additional cost (and it did not say so on the menu). I didn't find out until the bill at the end. If I had known, i would have packed up a couple slices to take with me, but the bread basket was promptly cleared from the table. I ordered the Soparnik as a starter. It is apparently a traditional Croatian dish, but they had their own twist. It was made with mozzarella and brie cheeses, some swiss chard, and served with a tomato jam on the side. Traditional has (I believe) local cheeses, onion, garlic, and swiss chard. I actually believe i would have preferred the original better. Some bites were heavy with mozzarella, and it often overpowered the Brie. The pure Brie bites were much better tasting. The tomato jam was too strong and overpowered all but the mozzarella flavor. But with the two together, it tasted like mozzarella sticks. I would have preferred the local cheese or brie only. And remove the tomato jam. Maybe to give it a twist more similar to the original, an onion jam would have been nice. But typically with brie, something like an apricot or pumpkin jam would have paired nicely. There is a lot that could be done to elevate this dish. For the main course, I had the beef cheeks. The taste was good, but not excellent. The sauce paired well, but I could have used more sauce with the meat, or some more flavoring as part of the braising. Still, it wasn't bad. The recommended wine was pretty good and I enjoyed it with the meal. Overall, a good meal. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+ Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

I was so hungry wandering the city centre and found Forty Two. I hope you find it, too. Order what you like and you will like it more. Balsamic taste of arugula with a steak. What a delight. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €45–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
