We were looking for somewhere to eat on the second night of our short return trip to Dubrovnik and a Google search of top restaurants near us revealed Jack's Food & Beer, which had an average users rating of 4.9 out of 5.0, was just 330 yards up the road from our Hotel Bellevue. So we walked up just after 5pm to get something to eat there. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were able to find some seating and order straight away. Jack's restaurant is a pavement kiosk kitchen right next to a bus stop with covered seating behind and more covered seating on a terrace below, with both areas looking out over a deep fertile valley. My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich (200g slow cooked pork shoulder, coleslaw, BBQ sauce, feta cheese & pickles), I had a Fat Mama's double pleasure burger (2x 100g beef patties, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions, BBQ sauce, lettace & pickles), we shared a simple salad & some large fries and we both had a large can of Karlovacko beer. The food was absolutely delicious (the best food we eaten during our holiday) and it was a joy to eat it out on the bottom terrace in the glorious golden hour sunshine accompanied with a cold can of beer The total bill came to a very reasonable 42€, which is a lot less than we paid for our previous evening's meal in the Old Town. The staff were really friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English, which was very convenient for us, as we are English and speak only a few basic words of Croatian.
