Service is great and so is the atmosphere. The place is beautifully decorated and the vibes in general are great. The waiters are nice, patient and humorous, which is nice in Geneva, that’s what I would say this place really has going for it! In terms of the food, I didn’t get any of their plates, only tacos and I must say for the price you pay for a lil 10cm in diameter taco, you would expect more. I’m sure their plates are much better but the tacos should be worked on more on my opinion. The tortilla could maybe be warmed more, the meat as well in terms of tenderness, but the most important one is flavor. I thought that it was a bit weak, and they could definitely experiment with slightly more intense flavors, as it almost tasted “bland”. Their drinks were nice though. It isn’t the most expensive place but if your looking for a “new” culinary experience I think you could look elsewhere where for the money, but it is à Geneva staple so it is worth a try. I think the solution to this, could just be working on more unique flavoring and seasoning but still enjoyed as the vibes were good ALSO: The birria tacos don’t have the shell dipped in meat juice!! So just a heads up Price per person: CHF 30–40 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We were visiting relatives in Switzerland from Texas. My daughter-in-law suggested El Catrin for her birthday dinner. As someone who has eaten Mexican food my whole life, I was reluctant. The food, service and environment are excellent. A little bit of home in Geneva.
