When we arrived, there was a gentleman ahead of us asking for a table for one. The waiter appeared to completely ignore him. The gentleman spoke to him, but the waiter would not acknowledge him, make eye contact, or respond. He then picked up his serving tray and walked away, leaving the man standing there without any explanation.
My friend and I then asked for a table for two and received exactly the same treatment. The waiter would not look at us, speak to us, or acknowledge that we were even there. He simply walked away as though we were invisible.
Other guests told us that the waiter’s name was YayRae. He appeared to be a middle-aged man, possibly around 40, and was wearing glasses. I cannot confirm his name myself, but that is the name we were given by people seated in the restaurant.
What made this behavior even more confusing was that the restaurant was not busy. There were only three tables occupied, so there was no obvious reason for us to be completely ignored. We understand that staff may sometimes be occupied or dealing with other responsibilities, and we would have been perfectly happy to wait or be told that there were no tables available. However, completely ignoring customers and walking away without saying a word is unacceptable.
After several previously positive visits, this experience has unfortunately changed how I feel about returning. We ended up going to Robinson Caruso instead, where we received a warm welcome, excellent service, and amazing food.
It is disappointing because we had genuinely enjoyed this restaurant in the past. However, based on the way we were treated today, I do not plan to return, and I will be sharing this experience with my fellow travelers and influencers. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no customer should be made to feel invisible when simply asking for a table.
