Convict Salesianum in Fribourg offers a dining experience located on Av. du Moléson. Known for its large communal dining hall, the restaurant creates an environment that encourages cultural exchange and connection over shared meals. This unique aspect is particularly appreciated by a diverse community of students and guests who visit or stay at the nearby student house and boarding school.
The restaurant is accessible, featuring a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, ensuring convenience for all patrons. However, there is limited information regarding the menu variety, ambiance, or specific culinary offerings due to the absence of recent updates from the establishment. The operation hours are Monday through Friday, with two separate service periods each day, and it appears the restaurant does not operate during weekends.
Previous visitors have noted a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by helpful and thoughtful staff. While these reviews offer insight into the restaurant's community-focused mission, those seeking precise details about the dining options might need to explore firsthand or contact the establishment directly.
The student house hosts a diverse community of students from around the world, where meals are served in a large communal dining hall, fostering cultural exchange and connection over shared meals. Overall, a wonderful and fruitful experience.
I was a guest at the boarding school for four months in 2024 and, I must say, I really enjoyed myself! The staff was always very helpful, kind and thoughtful. Rooms and common areas are very welcoming. Excellent location.
Despite a more expensive rent on average than in other hostels or rental apartments, the Convict Salesianum offers clean rooms, cleaned regularly by the cleaners. There is also a way to eat during the week with very good, quality dishes. The home also offers washing machines with low-cost wash cycles. In addition, Thorsten, the director, is very accommodating regarding rents and the management of arrivals and departures. Finally, the Salesianum is a friendly place and allowed me to make some great acquaintances.
