Everything was down to the tee. The service, the knowledge and welcoming atmosphere of the owners, their enthousiasme was truly inspiring. Thank you for the great time we had ! I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant CoinCoin in the Plainpalais neighborhood, Geneva, Switzerland. Had a very pleasant lunch here with a fresh and summery oriental touch. We started with homemade tarama and slow-cooked eggplant – both well executed and tasty – served with excellent sourdough bread provided by a third-party bakery. For the main, we had their summer salad with both cooked and raw tuna. While the quality of the fish was good, the dish could have used a bit more punch and variety to feel like a truly complete main course. The overall experience was very positive: friendly staff, honest pricing, and a nice terrace with communal tables, even though it’s near a busy street. Definitely a great spot if you’re in the area and looking for a good-quality lunch that won’t break the bank. Worth noting: they also operate a separate evening restaurant just next door called La Criée (if I’m not mistaken), where you can choose your fish and have it cooked to order, either whole or filleted – sounds like a great place to try next!
