Avoid, avoid, avoid this place if you want to be treated with any form of hospitality! I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but after our experience here a couple of days ago, I felt compelled to share it. Its taken me some time to write this, as I thought perhaps it's just the Croatian way, but we have since been to other cafes and restaurants where the staff have been much more welcoming. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing from the start. The waiter became visibly impatient and irritated with our 5-year-old son when he was unsure what drink he wanted, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable. Things became even more awkward when a local woman with a dog who was having a drink on the next table kept encouraging our son to play with the dog and its ball. When the waiter asked our son to stop, he did so straight away. However, despite the woman continuing to encourage the interaction, the waiter directed his frustration towards us rather than addressing the situation with her. We even politely asked the woman to stop playing with our son (which she continued to ignore) because we wanted to respect the waiter’s request, so it felt very unfair. The atmosphere afterwards was so uncomfortable that we barely enjoyed our drink and finished them as quickly as we could so we could leave. What a complete waste of nearly €20! To make matters worse, we were told we had to pay in cash despite there being a card machine available. I suspect it was so the waiters can earn more money in tips, but this place deserved €0 tips for the lack of hospitality and for making their customers so uncomfortable. So save your money and choose somewhere else where families are treated with warmth and respect. Price per person: €1–5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

My favourite place for Sunday coffee. Very friendly staff and great place. Enjoy every second. Long and interesting history. Simply a gem of Zagreb. Love it. Price per person: €10–15 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
