Chantaburi Basel … Where Thailand Meets Basel … and Luzi steals the Show If you ever wonder where to find the most reliable happiness in Basel, skip the pharmacy and go straight to Chantaburi. I’ve been there many, many times, and honestly, at this point I should probably get my own table with my name on it. Because every visit is a guaranteed success. The food? Always excellent. Always fresh. Always “oh wow, I need another portion.”. And if you’re lucky enough to go when Lin is there, the whole evening becomes even more perfect. She somehow manages to run the show smoothly while making you feel like a VIP from the moment you sit down. But let’s talk about the secret spice of the place: Luzi. If Michelin gave stars for entertainment, Luzi would have three already. He doesn’t just serve food—he serves comedy, charm, and a little bit of whatever magic makes you laugh even before the first drink arrives. You go for Thai food, but you stay because Luzi should honestly have his own Netflix special. And for seafood lovers: the fresh mussels (“Moules”) during the season are a MUST. Weekends are the best time—just go, don’t overthink it. Order them, eat them, and thank me later. In short:. Fantastic team, fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere.
