This was probably the most unique hotel we've ever been to, and we were in complete awe from the moment of arrival. We enjoyed the grounds, stunning vistas and pleasant staff, especially Davide. Unfortunately, soon after sunset while enjoying a cocktail in the Rivellino bar area overlooking the Amalfi Coast, my partner and I were legitimately shocked to hear 3 distinct gun shots, followed by an animal squealing, then one more gun shot. I realize we were on a hilltop and sound carries, but it was so loud and close we felt unsafe and immediately returned to our room. We understand the hotel is unable to control what transpires outside their walls, and cinghiali are an issue in the region, but guests should absolutely be made aware of this possibility to limit the traumatic reaction we endured. This incident, while not the hotel's fault, stained what would've been an amazing stay. Service: 5

About this wierd situation you are talking about, we totally agree with you. Sounds strange but we can understand your sensation in hearing this strange sounds. Please also note that this whole area is a national natural park so all the activities are carefully managed by the local authorities. On our hand, together with the owner of the Castle, our goal is to cuddle our guests and let them enjoy the experience in the Castle till the maximum. We cannot manage what happens our of "our wall". Castello de Rocca Cilento was, without a doubt, the best place I stayed on my entire trip. The room was beautiful, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Each morning, Alessandra made breakfast such a delightful experience—she was so friendly and took great care of me. Dinners and the wine tasting with Davide and Simona were equally incredible, with delicious food and wonderful hospitality. Fabiana at reception was also fantastic. You truly have the best team! The castle itself is magnificent, and I loved spending time exploring the grounds. Thank you for such a memorable and special stay. I can’t wait to return one day! Service: 5

Staying at the Castello di Rocca Cilento is an experience more than a simple stay. Admiring it in the distance in all its majesty already gives incredible emotions. We stayed in the Borgo Suite, a fantastic suite overlooking the village and the Alento River dam, large spaces and everything you need to stay in complete comfort. Walking inside the castle, in its rooms full of history, visiting the cellar created in the underground passages, admiring the castle along its walls, is really very fascinating. It's a bit like going back in time. The services are in line with the hotel's target and the staff is always very courteous and sunny. We had dinner at the Bistrot inside the castle which offers delicious menus with an excellent quality/price ratio. We also chose to experience a wine tasting, sampling some local wines and admiring the surrounding vineyard. Highly recommended.
