This meal was probably the best I've enjoyed in Italy in terms of quality and price. Home-cooked by Oliva and served to us on the banks of the beautiful river Chiese, It was rather as if my mum had opened a cafe and served people from her own kitchen. For €10 a head we enjoyed antipasti (prosciutto & asparagus), primo piatti (penne alla ragu - Oliva's own spicey-but-not-too-spicy sauce), il secondo was beef steak cooked to perfection accompanied by a generous salad. Though well stuffed at this stage we did make an effort at the massive platter of cheeses which followed. And positively wolfed down the water melon which followed that. We rolled out of the Bar Bocciodromo promising to return.
