Da premettere era la prima volta che mangiavo li, ottimi piatti e di buon gusto. Ambiente, Propietario e tutto lo staf persone gentilissime, si vede che il loro lavoro viene fatto con Amore. Da ritornarci sicuramente. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

Nestled in the heart of Paudex, Café de Paudex is the kind of traditional Swiss bistro that keeps people coming back. The rustic interior gives it plenty of character, and the warm hospitality makes you feel more like a regular than a first-time guest. That welcoming atmosphere is something many visitors mention, and it certainly lived up to the reputation.  The first thing that stood out was the generosity of the portions. Whether it’s the tartare or the classic Swiss dishes, you definitely won’t leave hungry. The beef tartare was fresh, well-seasoned, and easily one of the highlights of the meal, paired with crispy, perfectly cooked fries. The émincé de veau à la Zurichoise was another standout—tender veal in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce that was comforting without feeling too heavy. What really elevated the experience was the service. The head chef came out to greet us personally and even brought cushions for the wooden bench so we could sit more comfortably. It’s a small gesture, but one that reflects the genuine hospitality this place is known for.  The atmosphere is charmingly rustic, almost like stepping into a classic village inn. The only downside is that it can get very warm during the summer, especially indoors, so the shaded terrace is a much better option if the weather allows. My only real disappointment was the filets de perche. While they’re a house specialty, they’re sourced from Poland rather than from Lake Geneva. Given the restaurant’s local identity, I would have happily paid a little more for locally caught perch—it would have made the experience feel much more authentic. Tips for future visitors: • Don’t miss the beef tartare—it’s one of the best dishes on the menu. • The Zürcher-style veal (émincé de veau à la Zurichoise) is another excellent choice. • Expect generous portions, so come hungry. • If you’re visiting in summer, ask for a table on the terrace to stay cool. • If local sourcing matters to you, note that the perch is imported rather than from Lake Léman. Overall, Café de Paudex is a fantastic local address for hearty Swiss cuisine, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s easy to see why it enjoys such a loyal following—the hospitality alone makes it worth the visit.
