I didn’t plan to write this. I really didn’t. But after what happened — and the silence that followed — I changed my mind. I went to Villa Castellane for brunch with a friend on the 16th of July. At first? Fine. Nothing terrible, nothing memorable. Pricey for what it was. Then afternoon hit. Nausea. Dizziness. By nightfall I was in the hospital. IV fluids straight into my veins because I couldn’t even keep a sip of water down. Medication to stop the vomiting. Food poisoning. After eating here. The next day, once I could sit upright, I filed a report with the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office and emailed Villa Castellane a full account: what I ate, when the symptoms started, everything. One month later: nothing. No acknowledgement. No apology. Not even a “we’re looking into it.” The silence is what stings the most. I spent a night in the hospital after this meal and the restaurant couldn’t be bothered to reply. Unacceptable. From afar, the place looks lovely. And that’s exactly how it should stay: admired at a distance. My advice, based on this experience — don’t go. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hygiene and food quality is what made our reputation in Neuchatel, we understand your visited us for the first time but la villa is open since 2020 and we never had an issue like you mention. We had a total of 80 happy customers attending our brunch that day. None of them had any issue apart from you which is quite surprising. If your review is genuine which we doubt, you ate or drink something else before or after visiting us. We never received any email from you also. Writing allegations like yours is not acceptable.
