After a long time, I returned to the Porthof for lunch on Sundays. The veal knuckles served with polenta and vegetables were visually appealing. The quality of the meat was excellent, but the reheated dish was bland and not warm enough. The concept introduced after the departure of service manager Stadelmann is not very convincing. The prices have been raised, the cooking skills can be improved, which brings less traffic to the Porthof restaurant. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately notice the special atmosphere. It seems as if the furniture is all from the Brockenhaus. Lovingly put together and artfully enriched with accessories, the furnishings exude a great atmosphere. Lunch, served at the round antique table, was excellent and visually a small work of art. The dessert buffet is a feast for the eyes. The service friendly and attentive. A recommendation for everyone! Addendum from October 28th, 2023: It's a shame, the Chef de Service, Mr. Stadelmann, the good soul of the Porthof, will no longer work for the team. Sun November 5th, 2023: The beef steak was good, although it was only served lukewarm. Sat. November 11, 2023: Fine ravioli tasted great for lunch.
