Beautiful ambiance and prime location on the square—this place nails the atmosphere. Sadly, the coffee was mediocre and the service was the slowest I’ve experienced in a café in ages. If you’re after a nice setting, it’s a decent choice—but for good coffee and prompt service, I’d keep looking. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: €1–5

We arrived at Café Noir and sat down on the terrace. At no point were we informed that they only accept cash payments, which should be clearly communicated before you order. We asked for some drinks, and when we went to pay, we were told — only then — that card payments were not accepted. We had to go find an ATM, and ended up being charged a very high fee just to withdraw cash. When we returned to the bar to ask if there was any way to make an exception or find a solution, the staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. They simply repeated “cash only” with no willingness to assist or show any understanding. We felt disrespected as customers. In a tourist-friendly town like Samobor, and in 2025, it’s unacceptable not to accept card payments or at least inform customers beforehand. Definitely won’t return and do not recommend this place. Service: 1
