I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Café des Jardins at the entrance gate of the Portes des Iris garden at the castle of Vullierens, canton of Vaud, Switzerland. I stopped by for a cappuccino and was pleased to see they offer almond and soy milk options, in addition to regular milk. The cappuccino was good, with a nicely whipped, velvety foam. The coffee itself was decent — not outstanding, but pleasant. I also tried the blackcurrant tartlet. It was good — not exceptional, but enjoyable. The crust wasn’t too soft, though I would have preferred it slightly crispier and with a stronger berry flavor. Service was very friendly, and the location is absolutely magical, especially during blooming seasons. A lovely spot to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
