Extremely disappointing service after 6 years of loyalty – Zero hospitality! We have been regular customers at Buffet Smokvica for six years. However, what happened to us today was the worst display of customer service and ignorance we have ever experienced. We arrived at 9:40 PM. Since the kitchen closes at 10:00 PM, we immediately ordered our drinks and asked for just two minutes to decide on the food. After that, the staff completely ignored us. It wasn't until 10:10 PM – ten minutes after the kitchen closed – that someone finally came back to our table, only to tell us that we could no longer order food. This was entirely the staff's fault for making us wait for 30 minutes. Even though we explained that we arrived on time and were sitting there with a hungry one-year-old child, they showed absolutely no flexibility or understanding. Even after the waiter checked with the owner/chef three times, we were bluntly and rudely rejected: "No, you can't get anything anymore." I have been traveling to Croatia for 20 years, but I have never experienced such terrible and indifferent treatment of guests – let alone long-time regulars. The service and management here are absolutely dreadful. We ended up driving one kilometer down the road to another restaurant, where we were warmly welcomed, treated with respect, and served great food despite the late hour. Buffet Smokvica has definitely seen us for the last time. Highly discourage anyone from going here! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+
