ZAGREB'S FIRST CONTINENTAL KON-TIKI BAR - and it's awesome!!! (This is a location very familiar and dear to my heart because it used to be a beer place we all hanged at.... Then, a few years back, it closed...) Usually, when a place you love closes its doors, nothing good follows. -But not in this case! I came to check out BUD BAR after a friend told me about a new place opening at our favorite spot. He is someone who knows I can be a tad demanding when it comes to the layout of the place (and the menu)... But never did I think I would discover a fricking BEACH BAR in the center of Zagreb! Great location, amazing terrace, great lounge area with amazing greenery surrounding you!( parks, literally wherever you look, from all sides!) A true meaning of the words ''lounge'', ''relax'' and ''after work drink''. I was with two friends - we had 3 cocktails, all were very well executed, and we could even add our own twist to what we selected from the long list of drinks. Complementary snacks were brought to our table, all from a very kind waiter who was careful and made sure we didn't miss anything. It is great to be able to escape from the hustle and bustle - and the Summer heat - and the area is surrounded with tons of parking space, so not even a lot of walking id required to ''reach the beach''! I will be spending my Summer afternoons here I think, not to mention a true and much-needed refreshing getaway from the grilling-hot-July-Zagreb-asphalt! I can safely say - even Thor Heyerdahl would love it here... ;-)
