Buar Bistrot è vicinissimo al Piazza San Giovanni. Qui, i piatti della cucina italiana valgono la pena di essere provati. La maggior parte degli ospiti consiglia i curatissimi risotto, pasta cacio e pepe e hamburger. Difficilmente ti scorderai dell'ottimo vino che puoi bere qui.

It is called Buar Bistrot but it is akin to a low quality canteen. The starter was a tasteless biscuit the size of my finger nail with mayonnaise on top. My reflex response was to check the calendar to see if this was an April fool's prank. The wine was ok (nothing to write home about). The white rubbery bread was popped into the microwave and is to be 'enjoyed' dry (was it frozen)? The lasagna was heated in the microwave. It tasted a little better than a frozen lasagna from lidl or maybe the same because I didn't eat a frozen lasagna for more than two decades. The entire menu is limited to 12 - 13 dishes that are either pasta (with cheese) or beef or fish - not great in terms of variety (de facto 3 base dishes with slight variations). The fillet was tender and was the only item on the menu that was not heated in the microwave. Alas, It was too salty as was the green edible 'lid' over it that literally fell off and crumbled when touched because it was also too dry. It came with an uneventful industrial tasting sauce and some bland greens (both were precooked and heated in the microwave). If Buar Bistrot was located in the heart of Venice or at the foot of the Colloseum I would call it a tourist trap. That it operates in a non touristic town and caters mainly to locals is what surprises me.
