Nice cafe for grabbing a drink and taking a break. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the interior is beautiful, and the staff werecheerful and friendly. Good place to sit for a while. Price per person: €5–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I always end up at Botaničar whenever I’m in Zagreb—it’s definitely one of my go-to spots. The bar itself has a great vibe, and I especially love the seating area outside (across the street). As a non-smoker, I find it quite uncomfortable that smoking is allowed inside. There was one particular situation that I did not understand. One time, they served customers by the window at what seemed like an improvised table without any issues. On another visit, my friend and I sat there since the terrace was full. A sassy waiter passed by us multiple times, we tried to get his attention, but he completely ignored us. After waiting for half an hour, he finally told us they don’t serve there. It was frustrating, especially since we wasted our time and didn’t have time to go elsewhere for coffee. I also noticed similar behavior on another visit, by the same waiter. It was about 40 minutes before closing time. A couple sat in front of us, and the waiter ignored them for quite a while—until around 10 minutes before closing—just to tell them they were about to close. He could have informed them right away so they had time to go somewhere else, but instead they were left waiting until it was too late. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
