The bruschetta was not too bad. But the eggplant parmigiana left a lot to be desired. Not only did it not feel fresh it was very sloppy. The salad also did not feel particularly special. I headed to this wonderful place just out of pure curiosity and without reading any reviews, but only following the Instagram page... and intrigued by the atmosphere, I decide to drop by... so I'm magically surprised. The first business card were the waitresses, a welcome that immediately gives sympathy and serenity, like the BISTRÒRICO itself. Fine and elegant, but at the same time quite casual. We sit down without waiting, and without having booked, we order an appetizer for two and a bottle of rosé from Le Poste, a good proposal as a susumaniello! We didn't want to have dinner, but I assure you that the dish was sufficiently well stocked as if it had almost been a dinner. Very good, including cured meats, cheeses and seasonal vegetables, also because I would have liked to try the orecchietta with sautéed cherry tomatoes, black olives and burrata, but there was no more room in my belly. (In reality, we were at a disadvantage as we didn't have much of an appetite, but once we were seated there, the menu really makes your mouth water). The menu is purely local, but not only that, it offers first courses, carpaccio, sandwiches, bruschetta and desserts and much more, such as the wine and drink list... which is essential in a tourist point where the bistro overlooks. In short, there is something for everyone! Attention has been paid to the smallest details not only in the menu, but also in the location and the service, which is fast, attentive and polite. The owners, Marco, Vincenzo and Michele, know how to make you feel at home without being intrusive, pampering you throughout the meal making you have a wonderful experience and I had confirmation of this by returning a few days later. Once we returned to the bistro, we tried the Orecchietta, which was also appreciated, but I won't express much, leaving you with the benefit of the doubt so as to make you curious to try it! It's a must!!! Reading the reviews a little while ago, I didn't encounter the same treatment, but I think this is normal that in a bistro or restaurant of any kind, mistakes can happen, but not put in a bad light, as a lover of catering and kindness if a dish is not good you can send it back and give the opportunity to remedy it, assuming there is an error or just the source of a whim. Therefore, only in this way can one be given the opportunity to best practice one's profession. Those who do not belong to this world obviously cannot perceive all the effort, love and commitment of every single day in order to give you a culinary journey! But having said this personal thought... from my experience I highly recommend it, whether it's a quiet drink or an evening with friends. N.B. My first two experiences were in the evening, but obviously the bistro is open for both lunch and dinner! A stone's throw from the center, near Porta Napoli. Very touristy, but if you happen to pass through Leccese, the stop is a must. It does not disappoint and you will take home a magnificent experience.
