We had high hopes for a gastronomical feast when sitting down for a late lunch on the road side terrace of this eatery a beautiful Thursday of March 2025. You are surrounded by various iron beetles, grasshoppers and dragonflies made by the owner, while admiring the view over the Lake Murten and shaking to the rhythm of tractors driving by up and down Mont Vully. The menu offers a choice of meat, poultry, fish and a vegetarian option with a couple of options of red, white or rosé by the glass, that are of good quality. We were disappointed by what we were served and by the unexpected glitches in the quality of the service provided. It appears as if the place was in survival mode...

Among the steeply terraced, vineyard-covered hills overlooking Lake Murten, we happened across this quirky, casual restaurant serving some of the best food I’ve had all year. It has a lovely laidback vibe and is the perfect spot for a long leisurely al fresco lunch. Magnificent views over the lake and food, wine and service to match. The steak tartare, expertly prepared tableside is impressive and delicious, the cheese trolley's pretty special too and I'm still dreaming about the beautiful gratin of local plums with crunchy hazelnut crumbs.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Belle5 restaurant on a bike tour around Lake Murten and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. Restaurant offers a perfect combination of freshness and delicacy that really tickled my taste buds. The use of regional ingredients shows the chef's commitment to quality and sustainability. Every bite was a treat and the flavors of the dishes were incredibly well balanced. It was evident that great attention to detail had gone into the preparation of the food. The chef who also ensured service is very engaging and made sure my needs were met. The chef has no employees and therefore time is a property that the guest is allowed to bring with him. That will be well rewarded. The Belle5 Restaurant is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. The view of Lake Murten is breathtaking and adds to the relaxed atmosphere. It's definitely a place to take your time and enjoy the moment. The prices are reasonable and justified for the wonderful time spent there. All in all, I would highly recommend Restaurant Belle5. The combination of fresh, fine dishes, regional ingredients, a very finely tuned taste and a dedicated chef make it a first-class culinary experience. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this amazing restaurant with a loved one and see for yourself and enjoy the time together with the wonderful view and deep conversations.
