Barkun restaurant in Pula, Croatia, offers an impressive selection of dishes that showcase the variety of Balkan cuisine. During my visit, I ordered a vegetarian risotto, a burger, and a meat platter for two. Balkan cuisine is known for its hearty, often meat-heavy dishes, and Barkun certainly delivers on that front. The dishes were rich and flavorful, though quite greasy. The fries, which were soaked in butter, and the vegetables, which were also very oily, might be a bit too heavy for some guests. Despite the richness of the food, the taste was excellent, and everything was very delicious. However, patience is required as the wait time for the food to be served was quite long. This was partially offset by the extremely friendly service. The staff was attentive and always eager to ensure that guests were satisfied. Overall, Barkun offers an authentic culinary experience of Balkan cuisine with very friendly service, although the greasy preparation of the dishes and the long wait time might not appeal to everyone.
