Ovviamente non avendo concorrenza sfruttano la posizione di rendita. Salvabili caffè e brioche, servizio svogliato, prezzi assurdi (ho pagato dieci euro per un caffè un cappuccino una brioche e mezzo litro d’acqua). Non lo consiglierei. Absolutely avoid Ristorante Bar Sgambati. We stopped here twice in one day, and both experiences were terrible. In the morning we ordered hot food that was incredibly overpriced. It arrived only lukewarm, tasted unpleasant, and was so bad that we ended up throwing it away. After visiting Pompeii, we returned at around 2:30 pm for drinks and gelato, hoping for a better experience. We weren't served our beverages until about 2:45 pm, and even then we were given a warm bottle of water along with two soft drinks. The worst part was watching the manager. We ordered three large gelatos directly from him. Instead of preparing the order or passing it on properly, he walked away, spent time on his phone, made a call, shuffled receipts around, then eventually told another staff member to make them. He failed to tell the staff member which table we were at or what flavours we had ordered. When the employee asked for the missing information, the manager loudly berated and verbally abused him in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to witness and completely unprofessional. The staff member then took around 10 minutes to scoop the gelato and left the bowls sitting out in the hot Italian sun, so by the time they reached our table they were already half melted. To make matters worse, when we finished we repeatedly asked for the bill. We said "excuse me" several times, but staff simply looked at us and ignored us. It took around an hour in total just to have a few drinks and three gelatos. We also couldn't help noticing that locals, or customers who could communicate in Italian, appeared to be served much faster and received better service than tourists. If you're stopping near the Pompeii parking area, don't waste your time or money here. Around 50 metres down the road towards the parking area is a souvenir shop that sells the same drinks, snacks and gelato at lower prices, with staff who are genuinely welcoming, friendly and happy to help. We wish we'd gone there instead. Overpriced food, poor quality, painfully slow service, unprofessional management, and a very unpleasant atmosphere. This was one of the worst dining experiences of our trip, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20
