We spent a week in Ischia, every person we met laughed at us the moment they found out that we were staying in Panza, calling it the ugliest place in Ischia (spoiler: it's Casamicciola). We woke up one morning and had breakfast in the splendid San Leonardo bakery, an incredible bakery where the croissants are amazing and, if you're lucky, you can enjoy them still piping hot as soon as they come out of the oven. The coffee sucks, but the croissants are worth it. Nearby, the MD supermarket allowed us to face the day with three bottles of water paid for at a good price. After a while we took the bus to Panza centre, eager to find out if the people around us were right in calling Panza so ugly, but with an inexplicable sense of pride towards this municipality. We were struck by the beauty (average, to be honest, but still beautiful) of the place, and we immediately felt at home, starting to praise every single centimeter of Panza. After a somewhat challenging but still splendid walk (with a small refreshing stop at the Siesta Bar) we arrived at the best beach on the island. Better not to say the name to preserve the authenticity of the Quarry, which also entrusts its beauty to the fact that it is very little frequented and every visitor can fully enjoy the crystalline water of Ischia, feeling in contact with himself and with nature thanks to the fusion of lava and the sea. All accompanied by the growing fear that a landslide could interrupt that crossword you're about to finish. All this can only be reached so easily from Panza (from Casamicciola it would be a nightmare). At the end of the day at the beach, we wanted to honor the city of Panza by treating ourselves to an aperitif in a restaurant in the city. That's where we came across Bar Lina. The tables have a view of the sea, in particular of the island of Capri, which is no small feat. The kind lady brought our beers and our spritz accompanied by a vast selection of snacks (refilled twice) and three slices of freshly baked pizza the moment she discovered that all three of us were vegetarians and the sandwiches she had brought us were not they would have been eaten. A dear person. Also, they say the bathrooms are very nice (also with a view of Capri). Too bad about the price of the beer, which was slightly high (this is the only reason we don't give it four stars). The moral is that perhaps this review is not just about Bar Lina, but about Panza. And about everything the city represents. You cannot go to Ischia without having seen and fully appreciated Panza. And at this point you can't go to Panza without passing through Bar Lina.
