Non saprei da dove iniziare se ci fossero 10000 stelle da dare le darei sicuramente, cibo delizioso il posto migliore dove ho mangiato a grado, servizio impeccabile personale meraviglioso simpatico, cocktail fantastici e i proprietari sono delle persone speciali sanno come far sentire a proprio agio e coccolare il cliente anche se noi ci siamo sentiti più di famiglia che clienti spero un giorno di poter tornare. We arrive in Grado on a late summer day with a leaden sky and rain, flowing along the bridge that crosses an anesthetized lagoon with the deepest possible shades, so much so that it seems unreal, so much so that it looks like a painting in panoramic format. We enter the heart of Grado, a jewel of intimate dimensions, with rooms and houses that follow one another seamlessly, in an incredible harmonious context. We arrive in the heart of the center while heavy rain begins to pour, and while we are looking for a place to refresh ourselves, the Duca d'Aosta appears before us, in all its breadth, with its warm lights, relaxed atmosphere , the canopy under which many lucky customers sit peacefully watching the comings and goings of the people. Probably one thing that caught our attention were the throws available for each customer which created a mountain cottage atmosphere, also given the unusual rainy and cool weather. The waiter joins us, young, smiling, naturally friendly and capable of keeping up with everything despite the heavy traffic of people: being in the public eye is an art, and this waiter was certainly an artist. After the menu is explained to us, specifying that when we talk about pasta we are talking about fresh pasta, we take a Velvet of the day, a classic Lasagna, Tagliatelle with Porcini Mushrooms and a Pinsa Margherita. You can immediately see the attention in the details: as soon as I ordered the Velvet, the waiter asked me smiling "Don't you want to know what the ingredients of the day are?" And I hadn't really thought about it, perhaps because the environment seemed so reliable to me that I thought "Ok, bring what you want", so very simply I tell him that I trust the surprise effect, he smiles and says that then as soon as I have it once eaten I will be able to try to guess the ingredients, creating a challenge for the ultimate palate. Not only very smart, but very attentive and intelligent with irony. Finally, after finishing, the waiter comes by with a challenging air and asks me if I had understood what was in the cream soup: I throw in carrots, potatoes and pumpkin but I know that the flavor that strikes the palate cannot be as sweet as that of pumpkin. , and in fact he tells me that carrot is ok, but something really distinctive is missing, I try with a Jerusalem artichoke, maybe a root, and while he's clearing he almost-almost uses his free hand, I make vain attempts, I rack my brains, in the end he asks me if he wants me to discover the secret and spells out z e n z e r o! Of course! A magnificent velvety soup with carrots and ginger, which is perfect with the incessant rain and prevents sore throats from the cool breezes. It was very delicate yet full-bodied with flavors and aromas calibrated to perfection, the Lasagna with a homemade flavour, the exquisite Tagliatelle and the simple and tasty Pinsa completed the lunch. We then take a Tiramisu, a Black Forest and a Pistachio and Raspberry Frollosa, and there is little to say: order these desserts, they are magnificent and not at all heavy. In addition to the food and the comfortable environment, even outdoors while it's pouring rain and windy, but you have your Burberry style plaid (known for fashionistas) and the stylish stove around, it must be said that the jazz background makes the Duke d'Aosta a cosmopolitan Lounge Bar, which manages to make everyone feel at ease, and which has nothing to envy of the various Lounges I have seen in London, NYC and Paris. The kindness, professionalism and savoir-faire of the staff is incredible. Duke of Aosta, hold on to your staff, the new ones as well as the more experienced ones, like the excellent waiter whose name I don't know but who has all my respect for how well he knows how to deal with everyone, never losing the aplomb and smile, observing everything with bright and frank eyes (he has that nice, good and beautiful Harry Styles look). The Duca d'Aosta Lounge Bar & Restaurant is an unexpected paradise. ps Magnificent welcome even for our medium-sized dog, and that's not to be taken for granted!
