Quiet cool on the terrace. Excellent food snd service. Well marked paths for short or longer walks. Good value for money.

The four of us came here to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mother-in-law, and the setting was truly lovely — perched in the countryside with beautiful views all around. As expected on Mother’s Day, the restaurant was very busy, though the waiting times were unfortunately quite extreme. Despite arriving relatively early at 12:45pm, our food weren’t served until after 2pm, while some tables that arrived later seemed to receive their meals before us. By then, we were absolutely starving. With the long pauses between starters, mains, and desserts, the entire dining experience stretched to nearly three hours, which felt a little excessive for a lunch service. The presentation of the food was beautiful and clearly thoughtfully done. The dishes were enjoyable, though perhaps not quite memorable enough to justify the lengthy wait and price point. The seasonal strawberry tart was a little disappointing as well — the strawberries lacked flavour, which made it feel less “seasonal” than expected. By the end, we were simply too tired to mention that the ice cream order had even come out wrong. That said, the service staff remained warm, professional, and attentive throughout despite the busy atmosphere, and they truly did their best. To be fair, reviewing a restaurant on Mother’s Day may not reflect its usual standard. I can imagine the experience being much smoother on a regular day, as the location itself is charming and full of potential.

British lifestyle with tea and afternoon food presented on nice étagères. All handmade and freshly prepared. Absolutely yummy.
